Self adhesive packaging tapes should provide a solid closure in order to ensure a secure transport and handling of goods. This is guaranteed if the adhesive tape sticks well to the surface and provides a strong adhesion.

Therefore it is recommended to apply adhesive tapes within room ambient temperature. This allows a solid and strong adhesion. After being applied self adhesive packaging tapes can in general be stored with ambient temperature of zero or minus degrees (depending on quality of the tape there are different technical characteristics) and adhesion is nevertheless ensured.

But if self adhesive tapes are applied or stored in extremely cold ambient temperatures (e.g. unheated store rooms, refrigerated warehouses) standard packaging tapes fail. We speak about a breaking adhesive which means that the adhesion is no longer optimal or does not work at all. Safe packaging for transportation and handling of goods becomes invalid.

This problem of beaking adhesive occurs currently in the winter season but may be also an all-season problem in business sectors where permanent cooling is necessary for the conservation of products.

For the application of tapes and storage within cold minus ambient temperatures we recommend INDUPLAST freezer tape.

Advantages:

  • high adhesion in extremely cold ambient temperatures (special modified glue)
  • good application in very cold ambient temperatures ensures safe packaging
  • durability and storage in extremely cold ambient temperatures
  • high resistance against humidity
  • possibility of individual printing (advertising medium)

INDUPLAST freezer tape is a BOPP film tape coated with a special modified  hot melt adhesive. Technical data sheet on request.
