What are fiber reinforced tapes?
These are self-adhesive tapes reinforced with polyester filaments. These filaments or fibers are inserted on the adhesive coating layer.
Reinforced tapes are commonly used for packaging purposes. They are available in different qualities as far as the backing material is concerned (film backings like PVC or PP fils or paper backings) as well as the adhesive components (hot Melt, caoutchouc, acrylic).
Fiber reinforced tapes can be applied with standard dispensers or in automatic packaging lines (as machine rolls).
Why using fiber reinforced tapes?
The polyester filaments increase the tensile strength of the adhesive tape. The tape cannot be demolished as easily and it breaks only until the fiber but not as a whole. The polyester fibers strengthen, stabilize and protect the tape and make the packaging safer.
Furthermore, printed reinforced tapes are customized and individual solutions which cannot be copied as easily and therefore are a protection against manipulation and theft of transported goods.
What kind of reinforced tape?
Reinforced tapes from INDUPLAST are available in different patterns. Very often you find the SK4 structure (3 horizontal filaments and 1 sinus curve) which has become a market standard.
For your individual and customized solution, you can choose also other structures of filament layers – only horizontal filaments, only sinus cuve(s) or a combination of both.
